SAN FRANCISCO // part 4

fog city..of which fog we saw none, sadly. but the mid-70's sunny days were nothing to complain about.

this is the last SF post, i swear! but expect another million photos from our trip to the redwoods and from our time in portland. after i've shared all these photos, however, my blog will go back to regularly scheduled programming which consists of random photos of our living space (though i have made an effort to bring my dslr out with me more often and in turn i have been producing more everyday life photos i would like to share) and rants about religion and politics or something equally divisive and possibly offensive. you know this blog, equal parts sour and sweet. just because anything else is el-boring for me to maintain. how do other bloggers keep their blogs permanently savory and not go insane? just something i wonder at night when i can't sleep, among thoughts about how much i spent at the thrift store that day or wondering when i will ever, ever, ever obtain a bachelor's degree. anywho. photos! sweet--for now!

we walked around the civic center farmer's market, then headed down to the ferry building marketplace with the mushroom shop, and then spent some time in the japanese tea gardens in golden gate park.

SAN FRANCISCO // part 2

i saw souvenir stuff everywhere proclaiming san francisco as 'the golden city' but when i googled it most everything came up sci-fi. hmm. i may have to ask a local to ever be sure. today, i am excelling at putting off homework and productive tasks.

i've learned that i am not self-motivated on a day-to-day basis. i would be lying if i said i was cut out for the work from home lifestyle. i'm so not. i'm too social. people motivate and inspire me. however, i do possess some fairly awesome long term self-motivation. i make plans in advance for my life. i'm pretty great at that, actually. and when the plans are right for me i carry them out like a rockstar.

but the day-to-day kills me. just hanging out in that cozy basement apartment, i have no motivation to do my homework or read. i am barely keeping up when i should be soaring ahead of everyone else. you know with the whole not working and just having all day to do homework thing. jared says i should just get some hardcore netflixing and thrifting done, which sounds fantastic. BUT I CAN'T. if i were to go to an actual classroom, i would have little trouble heading to the library, reading what i need to read, and doing all my homework. blasted online classes! never again, i swear, never again! bonus: i did get to sleep in until 10am today, though.

so last week and this week and the next couple weeks i will see portland from the coffee shops that offer free wifi (ahem, starbucks) because i have so much attention hogging homework and it's the one place that i manage to be a little bit productive. plus, the smell of coffee ain't bad.

there are parts 3 and 4 coming, too. sheesh. i know, i know. it's a lot of photos.

SAN FRANCISCO // part 1

our time in the city was unbelievably gorgeous. i still would love to see a quintessential foggy, chilly san francisco but the sunny, mid 70's days we enjoyed were nothing to complain about. plus, i'm happy to have a reason to return.

the line for brunch at mama's (in the photo above you can see jared at the very end of the line wearing a blue hat) reminded me of this episode of portlandia. speaking of portlandia, here and here are two of my favorite kumail nanjiani scenes, if you'd like a good laugh.
