we woke up this morning but stayed in bed talking about future vacation options. at first it was maybe moab and then briefly we entertained san diego before we realized it would just be too much money and then yosemite, yellowstone, the grand canyon, and then back to moab. do you know the excitement of maps.google.com? we followed that rabbit hole for a while, sunday morning sunshine, both huddled over the laptop, excitedly mapping out our possible destinations.
and then the subject of disneyland came up. jared has never been to disneyland. but the idea of disneyland, man, is freaking exciting to him. he painted a whole picture for me, of him, at disneyland. standing in front of the magic kingdom, wearing a mickey cap, a mickey tshirt, shorts! because it will be warm enough for shorts!, and holding a mickey balloon. the conversation turned from if we would be going to what exactly we would be doing on what exact day and deciding how much of our tax returns could go towards the trip.
the excitement of planning a spring break road trip to disneyland literally overcame us and we before we knew it we were putting on our shoes and packing treats because we just had to get out of salt lake city and on the road somewhere. being bound to utah for me to finish my degree is really not easy for us. seriously. between the inversion and the boredom we are at our breaking point. so we decided we just needed to cross state lines. idaho, wyoming, colorado, arizona, or nevada? we figured wendover is probably the closest place that would feel like not utah. without really thinking about it we just took off.
with some boundaries, spontaneity has always paid off for me.
ps, we love our subaru.

i am totally jealous of your spontaneity + your trip outside of utah. your pictures are dreamy--that blue sky kills me!
