a few weeks ago we had some of our favorites friends over for dinner. we kept it simple but delicious with spaghetti and meatballs. our friends brought uncomplicated bagged salad, rolls and all the laughs. i especially loved that every inch of our farm table was taken up with serving dishes, table decor, and hands that were literally breaking bread. if anything, i would say it was vintage themed, jared made sure to wear his vintagey-est sweater, i made sure to play the vintagey-est christmas station on pandora (thanksgiving had just passed so we were in the clear), and our friends made sure to marvel at all our secondhand interior decor, despite some empty walls (hey! we just moved in). but to be fair i guess you could say our entire lives are vintage themed.

as we were getting ready for the evening, jared and i reminisced all the television dinner parties gone wrong and the ill advice about hosting them we had received from our favorite tv characters like michael and jan, leslie, and lily and marshall. so yeah, i blogged it but still our friends should be grateful that we didn't send off a 'best night ever' video (discovered that link while writing this post, you're welcome).

we've lived in our new apartment about two months now. jared keeps saying over and over, "we are so lucky we get to live here." and even though i had a few reservations about it in the beginning, it's turning out to be the most perfect little spot to live. we hope to have many more hands at our dinner table in the upcoming year.
